Terms and Conditions

This page sets out the Terms and Conditions that govern your use of the Play Natioon website and your in-person experiences at our restaurant and Poker Salon card lounge in Australia.

Region: Australia Offline Poker & Dining

Summary

How these terms apply

By accessing https://playnatioon.com, making a reservation, or joining one of our in-person poker nights or Texas Hold’em evenings, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (Terms) apply to your use of the Play Natioon website located at https://playnatioon.com, and to your participation in restaurant services and Poker Salon experiences operated under the Black Tie Card Society brand in Australia.

The site is a polished, content-driven journal and guide to our modern Australian restaurant, offline poker salon and card lounge culture. It includes editorial articles, poker table guides, Texas Hold’em evening overviews, offline poker events, and information about our seasonal menu and wine list.

By browsing the website, making a reservation, joining a poker night or Texas Hold’em table, or otherwise engaging with our card room and dining services, you agree that these Terms form a binding agreement between you and Black Tie Card Society (we, us, our).

2. User Obligations

When you access this website or attend the restaurant, Poker Salon, card lounge or card room, you agree to:

  • Use the website only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the enjoyment of, any other person.
  • Provide accurate and current information when making reservations, subscribing to the journal newsletter, or posting comments on articles.
  • Respect the refined environment of our poker tables, hosted tables and restaurant spaces, including maintaining proper table etiquette and courteous face-to-face poker conduct.
  • Refrain from disruptive, aggressive, unsafe or disrespectful behaviour towards guests or staff in the card lounge, dining room, bar or any related offline poker events.
  • Follow all reasonable directions provided by our hosts, dealers, floor staff and restaurant team during poker nights, Texas Hold’em evenings and private poker evenings.

Failure to comply with these obligations may result in your removal from the premises, exclusion from future poker events or reservations, and/or restricted access to certain features of this website (including community or comment features).

3. Eligibility

Our restaurant welcomes a broad range of guests; however, participation in Poker Salon activities is age-restricted under Australian law and our own responsible-hosting standards.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to enter the Poker Salon, card lounge or card room areas where poker tables, Texas Hold’em sessions or social poker tournaments are held.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to take a seat at any hosted poker table, including casual poker nights, Texas Hold’em evenings, private poker evenings and other social poker events.
  • We may request valid, government-issued photo identification to confirm your age before granting access to poker events or specific card room spaces.

By booking a seat or walking into a poker event, you warrant that you meet the minimum age requirement and that any guests you bring who intend to participate in poker activities are also at least 18 years old.

4. Reservations & Bookings

We operate with limited, intentionally intimate seating for both the restaurant and the Poker Salon. To preserve the black-tie atmosphere and ensure an excellent in-person poker and dining experience, reservations are strongly recommended.

4.1 Restaurant table reservations

You may request a restaurant reservation by using the contact options on this website, by phoning the venue or by emailing our reservations team. All reservations are subject to availability and are not confirmed until you receive explicit confirmation from us.

  • We may request a card-on-file or deposit for larger groups, special events or high-demand evenings.
  • Arrival times, seating durations and group sizes may be subject to restrictions, which will be communicated at the time of booking.
  • We reserve the right to release your table if you arrive significantly later than the agreed time and do not contact us in advance.

4.2 Poker Salon seats and hosted tables

Seats at hosted poker tables, Texas Hold’em evenings and curated poker nights are limited. To book a seat:

  • Submit an enquiry or request via the Poker Events or Lounge information and then contact our team via the Contact Us page.
  • Provide accurate details of your group size, preferred date and whether you are joining as observers or active participants in social poker sessions.
  • Comply with any seat limits, session times and table formats (for example, structured Texas Hold’em evenings or relaxed social poker rotations).

We may apply booking conditions for special poker events, such as minimum spend requirements on food and beverage, group pre-selection of menus or private card lounge hire conditions.

4.3 Cancellations and changes

Cancellations or changes to restaurant or Poker Salon bookings should be communicated as early as possible. Specific cancellation windows or fees (if applicable for private hire or major events) will be disclosed during the booking process and will form part of these Terms for that reservation.

5. Poker Salon Code of Conduct

The Poker Salon and card lounge are designed for refined, face-to-face poker and intimate social evenings. To preserve this environment, all guests joining offline poker tables, Texas Hold’em sessions or social tournaments agree to the following code of conduct:

5.1 Table etiquette and behaviour

  • Treat other players, hosts, dealers and staff with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Avoid disruptive speech, aggressive behaviour, intimidation, harassment or discrimination of any kind.
  • Follow our Card Room Etiquette principles, including waiting for your turn to act, not revealing folded hands and avoiding slow play intended to frustrate others.
  • Respect the dress code and overall black-tie, editorial atmosphere in both the restaurant and card room.

5.2 Use of chips and playing cards

  • Handle chips, playing cards and table equipment with care; deliberate damage or removal of chips or cards from the card room is not permitted.
  • Do not introduce unapproved cards, chips or objects to the poker tables.
  • Follow the instructions of our team regarding chip colours, denominations (where applicable), seating positions and house rules for each poker event.

5.3 Hosted tables and house discretion

All poker nights, Texas Hold’em evenings, private poker evenings and other social poker events are hosted in person by our team. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:

  • Adjust table formats, seating and timings to maintain a balanced and enjoyable offline poker experience for all guests.
  • Remove any guest from a poker table or from the Poker Salon if their behaviour breaches these Terms or disrupts the card room atmosphere.
  • Pause, reschedule or cancel a poker event due to operational requirements, safety concerns or unforeseen circumstances.

6. Dining & Poker Experience

Play Natioon’s Black Tie Card Society blends modern Australian dining with a dedicated offline poker salon. The experience is designed as an evening-long progression from dinner to the card room, not as an online or remote gaming product.

6.1 From dinner to the card room

A typical evening may follow our “From Dinner to the Card Room” progression: arrival at the bar, cocktails in the restaurant, shared plates and seasonal mains, then a considered transition into the card lounge, where hosted poker tables and social Texas Hold’em sessions unfold.

All poker activities are strictly in-person poker experiences, conducted around physical poker tables with real playing cards and chips. We do not operate any form of online casino, remote betting platform or sportsbook.

6.2 Nature of poker activities

  • Our poker nights and Texas Hold’em evenings are structured as social entertainment and hospitality experiences.
  • House rules, table formats and session structures may vary between events and will be explained by our hosts before play begins.
  • We encourage responsible participation and reserve the right to pause or conclude a guest’s involvement in a session if we have concerns about their wellbeing or conduct.

By attending any offline poker event or private poker evening, you acknowledge that the primary focus of the night is shared hospitality, conversation and face-to-face poker in a refined environment.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations and guarantees of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, in connection with this website, the restaurant, the Poker Salon and all offline poker events.

Without limiting the above, and to the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including indirect, incidental or consequential loss) arising from your use of this website, your reliance on any content, or your participation in any in-person poker or dining experience.
  • You are responsible for your own decisions regarding participation in poker nights, Texas Hold’em evenings, social tournaments and late-night card room sessions.
  • You acknowledge that, as with any social gathering, there are inherent risks associated with attending public venues and interacting with other guests, and you participate at your own discretion.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
